Behavioral Training

and

Autism Awareness

The focus of my services is behavioral education/training and autism awareness for families and professionals. * Please note that if you are looking for direct care ABA services for your child/ren, please visit: www.bacb.com.  Through both personal and professional experience, autism and behavior challenges often go hand-in-hand.  Behavioral training through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) can help families teach their child/ren, who are on the autism spectrum, how to achieve their utmost potential both academically and personally.  ABA when incorporated with tools such as the Picture Exchange System (PECS), visual boards or schedules, or augmentative devices can assist with promoting functional behaviors and communication.

With the prevalence of autism in the United States, I am available for autism awareness training for both families and staff.  The training consists of but is not limited to understanding the signs of autism, the importance of early detection and early intervention, navigating special education process, community services, how to work with or cope with the challenging behaviors of children with autism, helping families teach daily living skills, and promoting functional behaviors.

Presentations
Parent Advocate Training

I have over 10 years experience training families and professionals in a group, conference setting, and online webinar platform environment. Some of the topics include:  community resources options, the lifestyle of rearing a child with  special needs, special education, and understanding and managing  children's behaviors.  I am available for various speaking engagements such as conferences, seminars, and group meetings and presentations for professional development.

I educate parents on how to become effective advocates through one-on-one training or in a group meeting.  Parents will be made aware of the services available for their child and offered referrals to community agencies.  My parent advocate training includes, but is not limited to educating a parent how to read their child's I.E.P., understanding your child's evaluations, etc.

Family Support

I have been facilitating parent support meetings for 17  years.  Parent support is vital to finding balance when raising a child with autism or special needs.  I help connect families in order to foster a sense of community.
